● How The Rabbet Hole Came to Life as a Business
○ As a RIT Fine Arts Printmaking student (1982), I obtained part-time employment with a frame shop in Rochester, NY, specifically to learn how to prepare and properly present my own works of art for
local and national exhibitions as well as to engage my artistic sensibilities in a professional setting with
customers. In time, I developed a significant appreciation and “love” for the process of picture framing itself and
placed focused attention on refining and perfecting my skill sets. Part time employment led to temporary full time
employment followed by part-time employment again for a several year period in tandem with my healthcare
career. With the start of my family, I needed to discontinue my Picture Framing “second” job. However, I made a
promise to self in those earlier years, to open my own frame shop in my beloved hometown of Geneseo upon
my healthcare retirement. Retiring from Unity Hospital at year’s end in 2021, I took nearly a year and a half to
purchase the necessary equipment to open a fully functional professional framing
business. In December, 2022, I signed a lease with the Chanler Agency Inc. for space that came open in suite
one of their building. In May of 2023, I officially opened The Rabbet Hole Picture Framing Company to the
public making good on my promise.
